G321 - Masthead

For my masthead, I had a variety of different styles and fonts to print across the top of my magazine. They all reflect the genre of the magazine in one way or another. Then, with the help of audience feedback, I decided on the font for the masthead (which isn't going to be the same throughout).

These were my results:

As shown above, the bottom font was the most popular amongst the target audience so this will be my masthead, with the singular 'A' as the logo. I chose the other fonts as potential mastheads because they were all clearly written so that the readers can identify the name at a glance, and know what it says. Then the use of capitals or no capitals gave it an indie/alternative effect. This shows the target audience what style of magazine it is only by looking at the title, and can draw more readers in.

When printed on the magazine, the masthead will most likely have a different colour background to the rest of the font, depending on the picture. This is so that it can stand out and easily be seen against the contrasting background and can be identified as an 'Anthem' magazine, just like the way Q is identified by it's red box and white text.

This is the finalised masthead for the title of my magazine, which will stay the same throughout.
