G321 - Rock Sound House Styles
The font which Rock Sound uses for their magazine covers stays the same with each issue; it's only the colour and content that changes. The recognisable 'R' for the name is always in the corner, below articles which can be found in the magazine, and above key features in the magazine.
Their house colours are basically the three primary colours, red, yellow and blue as they alternate these colours around, e.g. sometimes the title will be red, the text background will be yellow and the picture boarders will be blue.
Rock Sound are known for using quite loud, bold colours to attract the attention of their readers since these yellows, reds and blues are eye-catching. It reflects the genre and style of Rock Sound quite nicely as most of the artists found in it produce loud, bold music for their fans.
Rock Sound have branded each page with a small "rocksound.tv" next to the page number, which are all enclosed in square brackets, so it looks like: "[22] rocksound.tv". This is apparent on each page, so it's Rock Sound's way of reminding the readers what magazine they're reading.
Like Q, Rock Sound have a reviews page which can be found in each article. This is to keep a sense of familiarity for the readers as having something brand new every single month can be quite overwhelming for readers. They're found on the same pages each week and are divided into two sections: album reviews and live reviews.
Throughout the magazine, bright bold colours are used to attract the readers to certain articles and pull quotes. This technique is used for almost every interview in the magazine as they want their readers to look at the page and read it. It also makes the page seem like it's shouting at the audience to read it.
